Our History

Bethel Lutheran Nursing & Rehabilitation Center History

1948  -  Bethel Lutheran Home was incorporated.

1951  -  Bethel Lutheran Home welcomed our first resident.

1985  -  Bethel Lutheran Foundation was founded through a gift from Floyd and Myrtle Stewart.

1997  -  The Foundation purchased the Terrace Apartment Building, and after renovation, began renting to Independent Living seniors.

1999  -  Heritage Manor, a Independent Living apartment complex managed by The Foundation, celebrated it's Grand Opening.

2000  -  Bethel Lutheran Foundation broke ground on an additional 9 two-bedroom unit in the Estates wing of Heritage Manor.

2001  -  Renovations include a "Main Street" with ice cream parlor, beauty shop, library, and Chapel. We extended our therapy services to better serve our residents.

2002  -  Construction began on the Hartke Child Care Center located at 311 Ferndale Blvd, in the NW corner of the Bethel block.

2002  -  Also in 2002 a new Basic Care neighborhood opened at Bethel - Nelson Manor, named after benefactor Leonard Nelson.

2010  -  Bethel Assisted Living Center, now named Arbor House, opened.

2011  -  Golden Estates Senior Apartments was purchased by The Foundation.

2012  -  Our corporate name changed from Bethel Lutheran Home to Bethel Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to better reflect the services we offer.

2022  -  Land purchased for “A New Place to Call Home” (Click here to learn more.)
